Amanda Sweeting: Social Media and Communications Manager

[email protected]

Amanda grew up on the coast of California but Alaska has been her home for the last eight years. She has worked in marketing for non-profits for the last decade and is also a former Alaskan outdoor guide. Her passions include packrafting, reading, film photography, and having outdoor adventures with her dog. She hopes to use her digital skills to give back to the wild Alaskan landscapes that have given her a home.

Philip Swiny: Executive Director

[email protected]

In 1999, Philip signed on as a trail crew leader for a conservation youth program and has worn countless hats in his outdoor career since. Recent positions were Director of Facilities for the American Alpine Club (AAC) and Director of Safety & Operations for the Colorado Mountain Club (CMC), two of the larger member-based outdoor non-profits in the country. He is excited to join the Alaska Huts’ Association team and continue to add to the solid foundation that past staff and volunteers have built.
