24 Hours of Alaska Photography

In conjunction with Alaska Photo Treks, we're offering a special overnight photography workshop at the rustic Manitoba Cabin.

Departing Anchorage at 6:00PM on Friday, we'll start with a photo tour down the Turnagain Arm in the Alaska Photo Treks Sunset Safari Van and chase good light throughout the evening. We'll allow for plenty of time to photograph landscapes, and possible wildlife at a number of scenic locations along the way and you'll be able to receive on-one-one instruction and guidance from your two professional photographer guides, Dan and Jody.

After crossing over Turnagain Pass and winding through the Kenai Mountains, we'll arrive at the cabin late in the evening, with time to relax with the camaraderie of your fellow photographers and enjoy the rustic nature of the hut before retiring to the bunk house or one of the two yurts.

After breakfast on Saturday morning, we'll spend time exploring our surroundings, hiking, taking in the scenery and shooting photos, while learning new techniques from your guides. We'll hold a number of short lessons designed to help you get the most from your camera and continue to provide personal instruction, all so that you can leave with a much better understanding of your equipment and how to use it more effectively to create eye catching photos. We'll even have a few Fujifilm X Series cameras on hand for you to try out if you like!

We'll drive back on Saturday late afternoon and have you back in Anchorage by 6:00PM, hopefully with a host of new photography techniques in your bag of tricks!

The Kenai Peninsula is a lush, sparsely populated region filled with greenery, wildflowers and dramatic mountain vistas. It's an ideal setting for capturing a variety of outdoor photography subjects and practicing different creative techniques. And, there's always a chance to spot wildlife; there's certainly an abundance of animals on the Kenai!
