Warm and Toasty
A 16-foot yurt, Spirit Walker has four single bunks and two double bunks, with space to sleep eight guests. Stay warm on those cold winter nights in this cozy yurt!
Bunks are outfitted with mattresses, drawers for under bed storage, and hooks for hanging wet gear. The yurt itself is insulated and there is a wood stove that keeps you warm and toasty when the temperature drops.
Spirit Walker is animal-friendly, so please try to keep it clean by sweeping up any pet hair. Like Toba’s yurt, the yurt itself was handmade by Nomad Shelter in Homer, Alaska.

The Manitoba property is fully outfitted with mattresses on bunks, dishes and utensils in the cabin kitchen, wood for the wood stoves, and propane for cooking. Yurt guests are welcome to enjoy the shared cabin amenities. An outhouse is also located on the property for all guests to use.

Bring your sleeping bag, food, water, and friends! We have a long tradition of guests who leave Manitoba cabin and yurts in even better shape than they found them. Please be sure to collect and pack out all your clothing, gear, and food (including spices, condiments, coffee, tea) before you leave. Edibles attract unwanted visitors!

We don’t have running water in the cabin or yurts, but Canyon Creek runs right by the property and is a reliable year-round source of water. The water should be treated by boiling, filtering, or chemical means before drinking. We don’t have any electrical outlets available either. We encourage you to use this opportunity to unplug and enjoy the outdoors and your fellow visitors.

The Manitoba property is an off-grid facility with no staff on site. We do our best to maintain the facility, but we’re a small non-profit, and our resources are limited. We ask that you take out all of your trash and leave the cabin cleaner than you found it. It’s a huge help to us, and it makes the next guest’s stay even better.
Please note that Manitoba is a SHARED space. Be considerate of your fellow hut-users and observe quiet hours from 11:00pm-7:00AM. Clean up after your respective party in the shared kitchen and dining area. Thank you!

Heading South from Anchorage:
Take the Seward Highway south, past Girdwood and Turnagain Pass.
The parking area is located at Milepost 48 in a large pullout on the left side of the road (8 miles south of the Hope cutoff).
At the north end of the pullout, there is a trail that heads east. After a short distance, it hits a gravel road – turn left on the road and follow the brown signs to the cabin.Heading North from Seward:
Take the Seward Highway north, past Moose Pass.
The parking area is located at Milepost 48 in a large pullout on the right side of the road (2.5 miles north of Summit Lake Lodge).

Access to Manitoba Cabin and Yurts requires guests to park and leave personal vehicles at Milepost 48 of the Seward Highway. Alaska Huts Association does not provide surveillance at this public highway pullout. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle at any time. Lock your vehicle.
