Manitoba Cabins and Yurt
Manitoba, located at MP 48 on the Seward Highway, is a historic site that provides a backcountry lodging experience. With one cabin and three yurts accommodating up to 25 guests, plus a sauna, Alaska Huts provides firewood (as long as supples last) and propane for essential comforts in a remote setting surrounded by world-class skiing in the winter and multiple hiking trails and non-motorized activities in the summer.
Reservations can be booked three months in advance or six months for our Trailblazer members.

Spring Woodstock 2026
Join us on Saturday and/or Sunday, June 26/27 (Saturday 9am-?? and Sunday 9-12) for a day of community, hard work, and good food. There’s lots of wood to move this year, so if you have an ATV and trailer (or know someone who does), your help would make a big difference. After the work is done, we’ll fire up the grill, enjoy snacks and raise a glass to a great day. Kids are welcome, and the evening will wrap up with commaraderie and a cozy fire.
Overnight stays are available on Saturday, June 27th. The entire site is available.
If you’d like to join us, please email [email protected]
with the number in your group, whether you plan to stay overnight, and what you’d like to bring—whether it’s tools, supplies for projects, or a favorite potluck dish.
We can’t wait to see you at Manitoba for another unforgettable Woodstock!

Our Vision for the Alaska Huts Association
The vision of the Alaska Hut Association is a system of linked backcountry huts offering diverse wilderness experiences and educational opportunities to the general public.
Our yurt and cabin rentals near Anchorage, Alaska provide a higher level of service than you would find at a typical public use cabin in Alaska. Amenities include mattresses, a kitchen, firewood (while supplies last), and propane for cooking. For some travelers, this is simply added comfort; for others, this makes a previously inaccessible wilderness experience possible.
Our hope is to use these experiences to educate visitors on the natural world and inspire the next generation of land stewards.
